Qatar, Turkey renew their support for Syria

Doha, SANA-Qatar and Turkey renewed their full support for Syria, and welcomed the steps aimed at restructuring the State, and boosting national consensus and unity.

“We discussed the developments in the situation in Syria, and welcomed the steps aimed at restructuring the Syrian State, as we stressed the urgent importance of lifting the sanctions imposed on Syria, due to their negative effects in exacerbating the humanitarian crisis and hindering the provision of basic needs.” Qatari Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said in a press conference in Doha, with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.

The Qatari Prime Minister added “we agreed on the necessity of supporting Syria at this critical stage, and supporting its new leadership in building state institutions and establishing the foundations of stability, in a way that ensures passage to safety at this critical stage, especially on the humanitarian and economic levels.”.

For his part, The Turkish Minister Fidan said that his country has contributed to providing support to Syria on the economic level from energy sources, and securing the needs of its people, and focused on how to find a quick working mechanism to present it to the brothers who expressed their support and full readiness to work together to achieve this, and to lift the sanctions imposed on Syria for many years.
