“Difa” irrigation station in Lattakia countryside opened after rehabilitation

Lattakia, SANA- In cooperation with United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the “Difa” irrigation station in Lattakia countryside was put into service after being rehabilitated from the damage caused by February 6th earthquake 2023, as the station irrigates an area estimated at about 2,500 hectares.

Agriculture and Agrarian Reform Minister said that reopening the station would improve the water situation, which would also positively reflect on the agricultural situation there, hailing the role of supporting organizations and looking forward to establishing more development projects that would benefit the Syrians people.

Director of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) in Syria, Tony al-Atal, noted to the project as a part of activities carried out by the organization and the main aim of which is to secure livelihoods for people.
