Lattakia, SANA- Lieutenant Colonel, Mustafa Knefati, Director of the General Security Department in Lattakia, confirmed that groups of Assad militia remnants targeted on Monday vehicles and a barracks of the Military Operations Department in the village of Ain Sharqiya and its surroundings in Jableh area, which resulted in injuries.

In a statement to SANA, Lieutenant Colonel Knefati said that while a patrol of the General Security Department was carrying out its routine tasks in the countryside of Qardaha, the patrol was attacked by Assad militia remnants, which led to the martyrdom of two and the injury of others, and the remnants of Assad militia captured 7 members of the patrol and threatened to slaughter them via video clips.

Knefati added “The remnants of Assad militias are hiding among the homes of civilians in Jableh area and its surroundings, and they use the mountains and valleys as a launching pad for their operations against the General Security Forces and the Military Operations Department.”

“We will not be lenient with these criminals, and we will seek to free our captives from their hands, protect civilians from their crimes, and cleanse Syria of them,”Knefati affirmed.
