Minister Shaqrouq inspects electricity situation in Daraa province

Daraa, SANA- Minister of Electricity in the caretaker government, Eng. Omar Shaqrouq, reviewed Saturday the electricity situation in Daraa Province during an inspection visit that included the main Daraa transformer station, the headquarters of the General Electricity Company of Daraa, and the company’s main warehouse to monitor the progress of work and discuss the electricity situation in the province.Minister Shaqrouq inspects electricity situation in Daraa province

During a meeting with the administrative and technical staff, Engineer Shaqrouq discussed the company’s work plan and the proposals that must be implemented.

Shaqrouq reviewed the electricity situation in Syria in general and in Daraa province in particular, referring to the difficulties and ambitions to improve the electrical reality in the near future.

The Director of Daraa Electricity Company said that the number of transformer stations in the province reached 11, and one is out of service.

The attendees discussed the peak load in the province, which is close to 425 megawatts.

During their meeting with the Minister, the company’s staff touched on several difficulties, including the shortage and obsolescence of materials and machinery, in addition to the lack of human resources.

The Minister stressed the importance of working with dedication and looking forward to building a new future that will advance the electricity sector.
