Hama, Oct. 14 (SANA)  Rajab Naqouh, head of the Road Security Branch in Hama, on Tuesday denied reports of further attacks or clashes in the area where four road security personnel were killed in an attack on two patrols in the countryside.

In a statement to SANA, Naqouh said reports circulating about additional attacks or clashes in the area were false, urging the public to verify information and rely on official sources. He also called on people to refrain from circulating unverified reports.

The denial followed an attack by unidentified assailants on two Road Security patrols on the Salamiya-Ithriya road in the Hama countryside, which killed four personnel, according to the Interior Ministry.

Earlier on Tuesday, Interior Ministry spokesperson Nour al-Din al-Baba mourned the deaths of the four personnel, expressing condolences over the loss.

Al-Baba said the attack would not deter the ministry from continuing to pursue those responsible and bringing them to justice. He added that the incident would strengthen the determination of security forces to fulfill their duty of maintaining public security and protecting lives.

The Internal Security Forces said they would continue pursuing everyone involved in the attack and take legal action against them.

Authorities have urged the public to rely on official information and avoid spreading unverified reports as investigations and efforts to pursue those responsible continue.
