Damascus, Oct 4 (SANA) Thirteen people were injured in 14 traffic accidents reported in several parts of Syria over the past 24 hours, according to the Civil Defense teams affiliated with the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management.
Traffic accidents
Civil Defense teams provided first aid to the injured before transporting them to hospitals for further treatment. They also cleared debris and secured the accident sites.
The Civil Defense urged drivers to reduce speed, check the technical condition of their vehicles, particularly brakes and windshield wipers, and avoid distractions while driving, especially mobile phone use.
24 fires reported
Civil Defense teams also responded to 24 fires involving homes, commercial shops, grassland, trees, waste and electrical wires. The fires were extinguished, their sites cooled and secured, and no injuries were reported. Damage was limited to property losses.
The Civil Defense urged residents to avoid starting fires in forested areas and agricultural fields and warned against throwing cigarette butts or glass containers along roadsides, particularly near crops and forests.
It also called on residents to avoid burning dry vegetation around homes or along roads and instead remove it using safe methods.
Two days earlier, 13 people were injured in 12 traffic accidents, while Civil Defense teams responded to 30 fires in several Syrian provinces.
