Damascus, Sept. 23 (SANA) Syria’s Interior Ministry graduated the first 150 members of its Women’s Police Institute in al-Tal on Tuesday, as part of efforts to expand women’s participation in police and security work.
The graduates completed six months of military and physical training, police and legal studies and field exercises, including training in handling community cases requiring female police personnel.
Interior Minister Anas Khattab said the graduates had completed training in security, legal and administrative disciplines and would now begin serving in police roles.
Social Affairs and Labor Minister Hind Qabawat, Damascus Countryside Governor Amer al-Sheikh and other officials attended the ceremony.
The Interior Ministry opened the institute on March 14 and plans to train further classes under police, legal and practical programs.
