A project intended to ease transportation for local residents, Defense Minister Murhaf Abu Qasra said Sunday on X.
“Our units, in cooperation with the Turkish army, have completed the installation of the new military floating bridge linking the two banks of the Euphrates in al-Mayadeen, with the aim of easing the burden on our people in Deir Ezzor province,” Abu Qasra said.
Abu Qasra thanked Turkish Defense Minister Gen. Yaşar Güler for his efforts to strengthen trust and cooperation between Syria and Türkiye.
The Syrian Arab Army installed a temporary metal bridge across the Euphrates River in Deir Ezzor in February, connecting the riverbanks between the towns of al-Mariyah and Marat.
