Damascus, Aug. 18 (SANA) Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani on Tuesday received Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Mariano Grossi, with the two sides discussing cooperation and the importance of continued coordination on Syria’s nuclear-related files.
The meeting underscored the importance of maintaining cooperation between Syria and the IAEA in a manner that safeguards Syria’s sovereign and legal right to the civil and peaceful uses of nuclear energy.
The two sides also stressed the need to enhance coordination to resolve outstanding issues before the IAEA Board of Governors as soon as possible.
