Homs, March 13 (SANA) 31 people were injured on Friday when an old rocket left behind by the deposed regime exploded inside an abandoned air defense barracks in the Abbasiya area near the al-Sabil neighborhood in Homs.
Khaled al-Homsi, Director of the Homs Health Directorate, stated that 23 injured people were transported to al-Zahraa National Hospital, six were admitted to the Abbasiya Health Center, and two were transferred to a private hospital, where they received the necessary medical treatment.

Amer Seifo, Director of al-Zahraa National Hospital, noted that the injuries ranged between moderate and minor, and that medical teams provided first aid to all patients.
The Homs Media Directorate clarified that emergency and civil defense teams rushed to the site immediately after the explosion, evacuating the injured and transporting them to hospitals, while specialized units are currently securing the area and handling remnants of war at the location.
The Syrian Civil Defense said that the explosion caused damage to nearby homes due to flying shrapnel.
The Internal Security Command in Homs urged citizens to stay away from the site to ensure their safety and to allow specialized teams to carry out their duties.
It also warned that the location still contains old, unexploded rockets that pose a danger to civilians, while technical teams are currently working to secure the area and remove all hazardous remnants.
