New York, July 15 (SANA) Syria reaffirmed its commitment to recovery, reconstruction and achieving the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) during the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF) at United Nations headquarters in New York.
A delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, headed by Director of International Cooperation Qutaiba Qadish, represented Syria at the annual U.N. forum, which brings together governments and international organizations to review progress toward the global development agenda.
On the sidelines of the forum, Syria’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations hosted an event titled “Syria’s Recovery: The World’s Role in Building Stability and Exploring Opportunities.”
The event brought together representatives of governments, international organizations and development experts to discuss ways to strengthen international partnerships and mobilize support for Syria’s economic and social recovery, reconstruction efforts and long-term development.
Participants also explored opportunities to expand international cooperation and support projects aimed at rebuilding infrastructure, promoting sustainable development and advancing Syria’s recovery process in line with the U.N. 2030 Agenda.
