Syrian-Lebanese border, July 9 (SANA) Syrian authorities on Thursday handed over the bodies of five Lebanese women who were killed in a bus crash on the Damascus-Daraa highway to Lebanese authorities through the Jdeidet Yabous border crossing.
The transfer was coordinated by Syria‘s Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management in cooperation with the relevant authorities in both countries.
According to the ministry, the women were among passengers on a bus carrying Lebanese pilgrims that overturned on Wednesday near the Khirbet Ghazaleh bridge in Daraa province, southern country.
Emergency teams responded to the scene, transporting the injured to nearby hospitals, securing traffic on the highway and completing the necessary legal procedures before the victims’ bodies were transferred.
The crash, which occurred early Wednesday on the Damascus-Daraa highway, killed five people and injured 30 others.
