Amsterdam, June 30 (SANA)    The Director of Public Relations at the General Authority for Borders and Customs (GABC), Mazen Alloush, met on Tuesday with Victor Cramer, Director General for International Migration Policy at the Dutch Ministry of Justice, to discuss prospects for cooperation in rehabilitating border crossings and supporting stability efforts in Syria, the authority said.

During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the authority’s delegation visit to the Netherlands, Alloush outlined the authority’s efforts to rehabilitate border crossing infrastructure, develop institutional capacities and enhance staff efficiency to create a safe and organized environment for returnees, according to a statement.

Alloush emphasized the importance of ongoing cooperation with the International Organization for Migration and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, stressing the need to build on and expand this cooperation in the coming period.

He expressed appreciation for the Dutch government’s support for projects aimed at enhancing stability in Syria, particularly those implemented through international organizations at border crossings.

Cramer affirmed the Dutch government’s interest in continuing to support initiatives that contribute to stability and create appropriate conditions for the return of Syrians, outlining programs and projects being developed in coordination with international organizations and relevant partners, the statement said.

Both sides agreed that the coming period offers promising opportunities to develop cooperation, particularly in capacity building, expertise exchange and supporting border crossing development projects to facilitate transit movement.
