Damascus, June 22 (SANA) Syria’s Internal Security Forces on Monday carried out a targeted security operation that resulted in the arrest of Youssef Ahmed Khaled, who is wanted for committing war crimes.
The Ministry of Interior said investigations showed that Khaled had participated in military operations alongside the deposed regime forces against opposition-held areas and was involved in the burning of homes belonging to displaced civilians.
The ministry added that video footage showed Khaled alongside the bodies of martyrs during liberation battles.
Khaled has been referred to the competent judicial authorities for legal proceedings, according to the ministry.
