Damascus, June 19 (SANA) Internal Security units in Idlib province, northwestern Syria, have arrested two men involved in leaking the coordinates of a rebel camp in Jabal Al Duwaila near Kafr Takharim in 2020.

The Interior Ministry said in a statement on its Telegram channel on Friday that investigations showed Fadi Maarouf, known as “Abu Jahl,” sent the camp’s coordinates to Issa Ghannam, who then passed them to Brig. Gen. Abdulrahman Najm, head of the State Security branch under the ousted regime.

The ministry said the camp was subsequently targeted by direct airstrikes while its members were holding a meeting, resulting in more than 100 people being martyred and wounded.

The men have been referred to the competent judiciary to complete investigations and take legal measures in accordance with the law, the ministry said, reiterating that the judicial process is the path to holding those responsible for crimes against Syrians accountable.
