Aleppo, June 14 (SANA) Syria’s Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management announced on Saturday that approximately 186,000 cubic meters of rubble have been removed from cities and towns in northern Aleppo Governorate as part of plans to rehabilitate affected areas and create conditions conducive to the return of normal life.

In a statement published on its Telegram channel, the ministry said debris-removal operations are continuing in the Northern Jabal Semaan area and the city of Azaz, north of Aleppo, under a project launched in coordination with Aleppo Governorate authorities.

The ministry said the work is being carried out in implementation of Decree No. 59 of 2026, which aims to remove rubble, rehabilitate damaged areas and prepare the conditions necessary for residents to return. It added that the project represents a key step in the recovery and reconstruction process and will facilitate the implementation of service and development projects, as well as the rehabilitation of essential infrastructure.

The ministry noted that the initiative was launched on April 19 under directives from President Ahmad al-Sharaa. The project targets the removal of more than 550,000 cubic meters of rubble over a six-month period across more than 30 cities and towns in the Northern Jabal Semaan and Azaz areas.

Cities and towns in the northern, western and southern countryside of Aleppo sustained extensive infrastructure damage as a eesult of continiouse bombardent by the deposed regime, resulting in the displacement of large numbers of residents to camps and other areas.
