Tartous, Sept. 19 (SANA) Twenty-four people, including women and children, were injured on Saturday when a passenger coach collided with a car on the Baniyas-Tartous road, authorities said.

Tartous Emergency and Disaster Management Director Abdelmonem Satif told SANA that Civil Defense teams, in coordination with health authorities and ambulance crews, responded to the crash, providing first aid to the injured and transferring them to Baniyas National Hospital for treatment.

The teams also secured the site and removed debris to restore traffic flow and ensure road safety, he added.

The Tartous Health Directorate said 13 of the injured were taken to Baniyas National Hospital, including three in critical condition. One of the critically injured was admitted for surgery, while the others received emergency care and are being monitored.

The directorate confirmed that no deaths had been reported so far, as medical teams continue to follow up on the condition of those injured.
