Deir Ezzor, May 28 (SANA) Minister of Health Musab al-Ali announced the activation of the emergency health code in Deir Ezzor Governorate to strengthen the medical response and secure all necessary supplies and medicines for hospitals and healthcare centers across the province, in response to the unprecedented rise of water levels of the Euphrates River.
In a post on X on Thursday, al-Ali said: “In light of the ongoing field developments in Deir Ezzor, we are cutting short our trip to Germany and heading immediately to Deir Ezzor via the Turkish city of Gaziantep to follow up on the situation directly on the ground.”
He added: “The safety and health security of our people remain a top priority.”
Earlier on Thursday, the Ministry of Health announced the formation of a joint operations room with the health directorates in Raqqa and Deir Ezzor, in full coordination with Deir Ezzor Governorate and its executive offices, the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management, Internal Security Forces, and the Syrian Arab Red Crescent.
The ministry said the operations room aims to monitor the situation on the ground, assess needs, and ensure rapid response to emergency cases.
