Aleppo, April 4 (SANA) – A second convoy of displaced families returned on Saturday to the city of Afrin in the northern Aleppo countryside from Hasakah province, as returns to the area continue under a Syrian government-SDF integration agreement.

Local officials said around 200 families arriving from Hasakah and Qamishli were received by authorities and relief teams upon their arrival in Afrin.

Mohammad Omar of Afrin’s Department of Social Affairs and Labor said local authorities, in coordination with the district administration and civil defense teams, have begun providing housing and basic assistance to the returning families.

Mohammad al-Hassan, head of relations in Afrin’s district administration, said some of the families will be resettled in the Rajo district, while others will remain in Afrin city.

Local agencies, medical teams, humanitarian organizations, and community leaders mobilized to facilitate the families’ arrival and help secure accommodation, particularly for those without housing.

Earlier on Saturday, Ahmad al-Hilali, spokesperson for the presidential team tasked with monitoring implementation of the Jan. 29 agreement with the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said efforts are ongoing to implement the deal.

The Syrian government announced on Jan. 29 an agreement with the SDF that includes a ceasefire, the gradual integration of military and administrative structures, the deployment of security forces in the centers of Hasakah and Qamishli, and the transfer of control over state institutions and border crossings to the Syrian government.
