Tartous, Syria, May 28 (SANA) Syrian Civil Defense teams in Tartous rescued six people after a boat sank off the southern coast of the governorate overnight, while search operations continue for four missing individuals.
The Syrian Civil Defense, affiliated with the Directorate of Emergency and Disaster Management, said on its Telegram channel that rescue teams received reports of a boat carrying 10 people sinking near the southern coastline of Tartous.
Search and rescue operations were launched in coordination with the Coast Guard and naval forces. Six people were rescued and provided with first aid at the scene.
Operations to locate the remaining four missing individuals are ongoing.
The response comes as Syrian Civil Defense teams maintain a heightened level of readiness across Syrian provinces during the Eid al-Adha holiday period to support public safety and emergency response operations.
