Damascus, May 25 (SANA) Safinaz al-Shaibi, a member of the National Commission for Missing Persons (NCMP) responsible for the families team, met British envoy to Syria Ann Snow on Monday at the authority’s headquarters in Damascus to discuss support for national efforts to uncover the fate of missing persons in Syria and strengthen humanitarian assistance for their families.
According to the commission’s Telegram channel, the meeting addressed the commission’s role as the national reference body responsible for the issue of missing persons, including communication with families and the provision of psychological and legal support aimed at safeguarding their right to know and preserving their dignity.
Al-Shaibi said the issue of missing persons “will remain a humanitarian and national cause that requires combined efforts in support of families and in protection of their right to know the fate of their loved ones.”
The commission presented Envoy Ann Snow with a symbolic memorial painting. The artwork honors the enduring memory of the missing within their households and reflects the unyielding resolve of Syrian families to attain legal truth and ultimate closure.
