Baku, May 19 (SANA) Minister of Public Works and Housing Mustafa Abdul Razzaq and Damascus Governor Maher Marwan Edlbi discussed with Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Agency for Public Service and Social Innovations (ASAN Service) Ulvi Mehdiyev ways to strengthen cooperation in digital transformation, smart government services and the exchange of technical and institutional expertise.
The Ministry of Public Works and Housing said on its Telegram channel Monday that the talks were held on the sidelines of the 13th World Urban Forum (WUF13), which opened Sunday in the Azerbaijani capital.
The two sides reviewed Azerbaijan’s experience in modernizing public services, simplifying administrative procedures, and developing integrated smart-government systems. Discussions also focused on mechanisms to improve institutional efficiency and expand innovative digital solutions in government services.
The Syrian delegation toured several departments and facilities of ASAN Service and was briefed on its operational mechanisms and the services offered through the system, which is regarded as one of the leading models for digital public services and one-stop government service delivery.
Syria is participating in the 13th World Urban Forum, organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Program (UN-Habitat), with the participation of ministers and officials concerned with urban development and housing from various countries under the theme “Global Housing: Safe and Resilient Cities and Communities.”
