Damascus, Jan. 1 (SANA) Minister of Emergency and Disaster Management Raed al-Saleh affirmed that the Syrian Civil Defense teams responded to families who left the areas of Deir Hafer and Maskanah in the Aleppo countryside, providing immediate medical assistance to patients and the elderly upon their arrival.
In a post on the X platform on Thursday, al-Saleh noted that Civil Defense teams transported families in need to temporary shelter centers that had been prepared in advance by the Aleppo Central Response Committee, as part of ongoing efforts to secure civilians and deliver urgent humanitarian support.
Al-Saleh added that the response comes amid continued attempts to ensure the safety of civilians fleeing areas affected by hostilities.
Earlier on Thursday, the SDF organization prevented residents of Deir Hafer and Maskanah from using safe corridors designated by the Syrian government for civilian evacuation, forcing large numbers of families to change their routes and take alternative and dangerous paths through agricultural lands and areas contaminated with landmines and water channels, until they reached safe zones.
The developments coincided with continued attacks by the group using mortar shells and drones against Syrian Arab Army positions and civilian areas in the eastern Aleppo countryside.
