Hama, May 17 (SANA) Syrian emergency teams have removed more than 79,000 cubic meters of debris from northern and eastern areas of Hama province as part of continuing recovery operations aimed at restoring infrastructure and facilitating the return of displaced residents.
Mohammad al-Sheikh Qaddour, director of Emergency and Disaster Management in Hama, said cleanup crews cleared 79,521 cubic meters of rubble from three main locations, including 60,808 cubic meters in Morek, 15,431 cubic meters in Aqirbat, and 3,282 cubic meters in Lahaya village.
Qaddour said the campaign forms part of broader early recovery efforts focused on improving public services and creating safer conditions in communities affected by years of conflict.
He added that debris removal operations were continuing in other targeted areas across the province.
Residents said the cleanup campaign had helped reopen blocked roads and public spaces while reducing environmental and public health risks ahead of the summer season.
The Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management says that since the launch of the campaign on March 1, a total of 198,199 cubic meters of debris have been removed across Hama province as part of ongoing rehabilitation and stabilization efforts.
