Damascus, May 15 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa issued Decree No. 99 of 2026, appointing Mohammed Safwat Abdul Hamid Raslan as Governor of the Central Bank of Syria (CBS).
Biography of Governor of the Central Bank of Syria:
Born in 1981
- Bachelor’s degree in Economics, specializing in Accounting, from the University of Aleppo.
- Diploma in Strategic Management from Lazarski University, Warsaw.
- International professional certifications in project management.
Positions and Experiences :
- Director General of the Syrian Development Fund.
- Consultant at “EY” and “Capco”, and banking expert at “TARGOBANK” and “Deutsche Bank”.
- Credit Business Manager at the Pharmacists and Physicians Bank in Germany.
- Branch Manager at Byblos Bank, Syria.
Qualifications:
- Over 20 years of professional experience in the fields of credit risk management, governance, and digital transformation.
- Former member of the boards of several community organizations in Germany.
- Awarded various recognitions for his efforts in volunteer and charitable work in Germany.
