Hasakah, May 9 (SANA) A new convoy carrying around 1,200 families departed from Hasakah on Saturday, heading for their towns and villages in Afrin after years of displacement.
According to Hasakah Media Directorate, the convoy was escorted by internal security units from Hasakah and Aleppo in coordination with Syria’s Ministry of Emergency and Disasters’ Management, which provided logistical support during the journey.
The move follows the return of another convoy of about 800 Afrin families on April 14 as part of ongoing efforts to facilitate returns.

The Syrian government announced on January 29 an agreement with Syrian Democratic Forces to implement a ceasefire, begin the gradual integration of military and administrative structures, restore state control over public institutions and border crossings, and address detainee and displacement issues.
