Damascus, April 7 (SANA) – A delegation representing local community groups in Syria visited the United Arab Emirates embassy in Damascus on Tuesday and met with UAE Ambassador Hamad Rashid bin Alwan Al-Habsi, expressing appreciation for the UAE’s supportive positions toward Syria and its people.
Members of the delegation said the visit also aimed to condemn and denounce recent incidents related to the embassy, stressing that such actions do not reflect the values or character of the Syrian people and reaffirming their commitment to the strong fraternal relations between the two nations.
Mohammad Ali al-Tawil, head of the Syrian Bar Association and a member of the delegation, said the visit carried a collective message from civil society organizations, professional unions and Syrians more broadly condemning the incidents and emphasizing that they do not represent Syrian society.

He added that the unified stance at official, popular and professional levels reflects the depth of brotherly ties between the Syrian and Emirati peoples and reiterates support for maintaining these relations.
For his part, Abdulrahman Daddam, chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Pioneers Foundation for Cooperation and Development and head of the Economists Syndicate in Aleppo, said the recent developments represent a temporary challenge and stressed that Syrian-Emirati relations are rooted in a longstanding Arab tradition of solidarity and cooperation established by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
