Two killed, 19 injured in road accidents across Syria in 24 hours

Damascus, March 23 (SANA) Two people were killed and 19 others injured in road accidents across Syria over the past 24 hours, according to Civil Defense teams operating under the Ministry of Emergency and Disaster Management.

The Civil Defense said Monday on its Telegram channel that first responders provided on-site medical assistance before transferring the injured to hospitals for further treatment. The victims’ bodies were transported to the forensic department in Aleppo and later handed over to their families in accordance with official procedures.

The agency urged drivers to reduce speed, particularly at curves, slopes, and intersections, warning of an increased risk of skidding.

It also stressed the importance of vehicle maintenance, including checking brakes and windshield wipers, and avoiding distractions such as using mobile phones while driving.

In a separate update, the ministry said Civil Defense teams responded on Sunday to 20 traffic accidents across Syria, resulting in seven fatalities and 53 injuries.
