Damascus, Aug. 9 (SANA) Seventeen civilians were injured in 22 traffic accidents across several provinces in Syria over the past 24 hours, the Syrian Civil Defense said Sunday on its Telegram channel.
Civil Defense teams provided first aid to the injured and transported them to hospitals for treatment. The teams cleared the accident sites and secured the affected areas.
During the same period, Civil Defense teams responded to 48 fires across Syria, extinguishing the flames and cooling the affected sites. No civilian injuries were reported, and damage was limited to property.
The Civil Defense urged the public not to light fires in wooded areas or agricultural fields and warned against discarding cigarette butts or glass containers along roadsides, particularly near crops and wooded areas.
It urged residents not to burn dry vegetation around homes or along roads and advised removing it using safe methods.
Two people were killed and 17 others injured two days earlier in fires and traffic accidents attended by Civil Defense teams across several Syrian provinces.
