Damascus, March 22 (SANA) – Syria expressed its condolences to Qatar and Türkiye over the victims of a military helicopter crash in Qatari territorial waters, affirming its full solidarity with both countries.
In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates extended sincere condolences to the Qatari government and people and to Türkiye over the deaths of six personnel from the Qatari armed forces and joint Qatari-Turkish forces, in addition to Turkish civilians, following the crash caused by a technical malfunction during a routine mission.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense also conveyed its condolences to its Qatari and Turkish counterparts over the incident, expressing solidarity with both countries and sympathy with the victims’ families.
Earlier, Qatar’s Ministry of Defense announced that a military helicopter had crashed in the country’s territorial waters due to a technical fault while carrying out a routine task. It later confirmed the deaths of six individuals, while search operations continue for one missing person.
