Aleppo, March 21 (SANA) – The Commander of Internal Security in Aleppo Governorate, Colonel Mohammad Abdul Ghani, issued a stern warning on Saturday, emphasizing that any infringement upon state symbols—foremost among them the flag of the Syrian Arab Republic—is a “red line” that will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Commenting on the events that unfolded today in the regions of Ain al-Arab and Afrin, Colonel Abdul Ghani clarified that specialized security agencies will not show leniency toward any assaults on civilians or attempts to undermine regional security and stability.
The statements follow an incident during Newroz celebrations in Ain al-Arab earlier today, where an individual deliberately lowered the national flag. This act sparked immediate and widespread public protests across several districts, with citizens taking to the streets to denounce the insult to the symbol of the country’s unity and dignity.
