Homs, March 11 (SANA) – The Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Homs seized quantities of fireworks and banned toys during intensified market inspections ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
Director of the Homs Directorate, Wael Burghol, said the inspection campaigns resulted in six legal violations being issued against offenders, along with the confiscation of dangerous fireworks and toys that pose risks to children and the public.
Burghol noted that inspections have been intensified as demand for fireworks typically rises during the holiday period. He added that the directorate is working to limit the spread of such items due to the safety hazards they pose, as well as the disturbance they cause in residential neighborhoods.
He stressed that monitoring campaigns will continue and legal measures will be taken against violators, calling on parents to help raise awareness among children about the dangers of fireworks to ensure safe celebrations during the holiday.
The measures come as part of broader efforts by the Directorate of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection to regulate markets and prevent the circulation of products that may pose risks to public safety, particularly during holiday seasons when demand increases.
