Damascus, March 10 (SANA) Syria condemned a drone attack targeting the United Arab Emirates consulate in Iraq’s Kurdistan region, calling it a “dangerous violation” of diplomatic premises protected under international law.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Syrian Foreign Ministry expressed solidarity with the UAE and stressed the need to respect Iraq’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
The ministry warned against actions that could destabilize the region or endanger civilians and diplomatic missions.
Earlier Tuesday, the UAE said its consulate in Iraq’s Kurdistan region had been targeted in a drone attack that caused material damage but no casualties. Several countries have condemned the attack.
