Damascus, March 9 (SANA) – Syria’s Minister of Transport Yarub Badr discussed with a delegation of industrialists on Monday ways to enhance cooperation between the transport and industrial sectors.

The delegation was led by Mazen Dirwan, head of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry (FSCI), and the talks focused on improving the business environment for industry and strengthening the competitiveness of Syrian products.

Participants also reviewed recommendations from the National Industry Solutions Lab Forum, organized by the Damascus and Rural Damascus Chamber of Industry in January 2026, which proposed practical measures and an implementation roadmap to support the sector.

Discussions highlighted the role of transport in facilitating the movement of raw materials and industrial goods between provinces and border crossings. Industrialists also raised challenges affecting logistics costs, including operational issues in the freight scheduling system and cases of non-compliance with transport regulations by some drivers.

Both sides stressed the importance of closer coordination between the Transport Ministry and the Federation of Chambers of Industry to address these obstacles and improve transport services linked to industrial activity.

The meeting comes as part of broader efforts to strengthen cooperation between government institutions and the industrial sector, particularly in developing transport infrastructure and easing the movement of materials and finished products.
