Damascus, March 9 (SANA) The Syrian Planning and Statistics Authority and the World Food Programme signed a memorandum of understanding Monday to conduct the Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption Survey (HIECS), aimed at strengthening economic and social policy in Syria.
The signing ceremony took place at the authority’s headquarters in the presence of Finance Minister Mohammed Yisr Barnieh.
The survey is the first such study conducted in Syria since 2009, and its findings are expected to provide an updated picture of living conditions for families across the country.
