Damascus, Feb. 28 (SANA) Interior Minister Anas Khattab met on Saturday with a delegation from the Syrian Christian community to discuss the role of civil society in supporting national stability. The meeting was attended by Major General Ahmed Latouf, the minister’s assistant for police affairs.
In a statement posted on its Telegram channel, the Ministry of Interior said Khattab reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to safeguarding the rights of all components of Syrian society and encouraging their active participation in public life. He stressed that promoting security, strengthening social cohesion, and upholding the principles of equal citizenship remain central responsibilities of the ministry.
The discussion also focused on the contribution of civil society organizations to government efforts aimed at reinforcing stability. Both sides underscored the importance of social solidarity in confronting current challenges and supporting national resilience.
