Homs, Feb. 21 (SANA) The Internal Security Directorate in the al-Qusayr area of the Homs countryside arrested a five-member gang accused of posing as Internal Security members and carrying out armed robberies near the Syrian–Lebanese border.
The Ministry of Interior said that the Directorate had launched a precise security operation that resulted in the complete dismantling of the gang and the arrest of all five of its members. Various weapons, ammunition, a motorcycle, and quantities of narcotic substances were also confiscated during the operation.
Those arrested were referred to the judiciary, the ministry added, noting that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat crime and protect citizens.
