US Senator Repealing the Caesar Act aligns with Trump’s agenda of giving Syria a chance

Washington, SANA- U.S. Republican Congressman Joe Wilson affirmed that “repealing the sanctions imposed on Syria under the Caesar Act in full is fully consistent with President Donald Trump’s agenda to give Syria a chance”.

Wilson said in a post on the X platform: “I appreciate the intentions of my colleagues on the House Financial Services Committee to raise the issue of streamlining sanctions on Syria at the appropriate time, and I believe that repealing the Caesar Act in full is fully consistent with President Trump’s agenda to give Syria a chance.”

Wilson warned that keeping the Caesar Act in effect for years will hinder long-term reconstruction in Syria, which could contribute to the resurgence of the terrorist organization ISIS.

He announced on the 12th of last month that he had introduced legislation to Congress to repeal the Caesar Act and its sanctions on Syria in full.
