Qatar children’s pavilion brings interactive heritage to Damascus Book Fair

Damascus, Feb. 8 (SANA) The Children’s Pavilion, presented by the Qatar Ministry of Culture, offers young visitors an interactive cultural experience at the Damascus International Book Fair International Book Fair. The pavilion blends learning, creativity, and play to introduce children and teenagers to Qatari heritage and reading culture.

The pavilion features hands-on activities, including displays of traditional Qatari attire, heritage-inspired art, and architecture-themed colouring. There are also creative workshops tailored to different age groups. Teenagers can design and decorate figures wearing Qatari clothing to deepen their artistic and cultural engagement.

A highlight of the pavilion is the “Children’s Story Designer” initiative, which was launched in Qatar five years ago and has produced around 80 stories written by children, inspired by Qatari heritage and humanitarian themes. At the fair, children can create and illustrate their own stories using specially designed booklets.

The pavilion has drawn strong interest from young visitors, offering a space that encourages imagination, cultural awareness, and a love of reading in an accessible, engaging setting.

Qatar is participating in the 2026 Damascus International Book Fair as the guest of honor, alongside Saudi Arabia, in the exhibition’s first edition since Syria’s liberation.
