Tartous, Feb.15 (SANA)  The first aid bus of the “Tartous Al-Khair 2” campaign set off Sunday towards camps in Idlib province affected by recent floods, carrying food supplies, financial assistance, and electrical and household items.

The convoy was organized by the Tartous Madinati group and directed to camps in northern Idlib, with contributions from residents of Tartous province across different segments of the community.

Ghaith Bajoud, representative of the Tartous District Administration, told SANA that the first aid bus departed Sunday towards camps in the north of Idlib as part of the campaign, adding that residents of Tartous responded widely to support those affected.

Ahmad al-Sayyed, one of the organizers of the Tartous Madinati group, said the campaign targets camps damaged by last week’s heavy rainfall and flooding, reflecting humanitarian and moral solidarity with families facing difficult conditions.

Heavy rainfall in northern and western Syria recently triggered flash floods that swept through areas near seasonal waterways in the Kherbet al-Jouz camps west of Idlib province, submerging a number of tents. Authorities carried out evacuations of affected families and opened temporary shelters to accommodate them.
