Al-Shaibani: Syria advancing with inclusive national vision embracing all Syrians

Al-Shaibani: Syria advancing with inclusive national vision embracing all Syrians

Munich, Feb. 14 (SANA)  Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates,Asaad Hassan al-Shaibani, affirmed that Syria is working to rebuild the state and address the negative legacy left by the deposed regime, noting that the challenges faced by the country have demonstrated the government’s responsibility and courage in handling issues without evading accountability.

Speaking at a second panel session during the Munich Security Conference, titled “Building on Momentum in the Middle East: From Promises to Delivery”, al-Shaibani said: “Since 8 December 2024, we have adopted a comprehensive national vision that embraces all Syrians and lays the foundation for building new institutions that safeguard diversity and ensure equal opportunities for everyone.”

He added that Syria is moving steadily toward the future, relying on a realistic approach shaped by the challenges Syrians have endured in recent years, grounded in a pragmatic understanding of the domestic environment, and focused on strengthening trust between the state and society.

Al-Shaibani stressed that Syria’s diversity is a source of strength, and the new national vision is based on respecting and preserving this diversity to reinforce a unified Syrian identity. He noted that the government is working to build modern institutions that include all Syrians and enable them to participate in shaping the country’s future.

For his part, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud underlined that Syria is on the path to stability and prosperity, affirming the importance of international support for Syria’s economy and recovery process.

He explained that Saudi Arabia views the current stage as requiring enhanced regional and international cooperation to ensure the success of reconstruction efforts.

Norway’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Espen Barth Eide expressed optimism about Syria’s future, stressing the need to provide Syrians with opportunities to work and demonstrate their capabilities.

“The Syrian government is delivering on its commitments, and establishing a stable economic environment will boost development prospects and encourage more Syrians to return to the workforce,” he said.
