Hasaka, Feb. 6 (SANA) A delegation from the Operations Command, accompanied by senior officers of the Syrian Arab Army, held a meeting followed by a field tour on Friday across several areas and sites in Hasaka province, alongside representatives of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). The visit was characterised by a positive atmosphere.
The Operations Command of the Syrian Arab Army said, in a statement on Friday, the purpose of the meeting and the field tour was to initiate the practical implementation of the agreement concluded between the Syrian state and the SDF. Specific timelines were agreed upon to begin executing the terms of the agreement in the coming days.
The Operations Command noted that the agreement includes withdrawal from civilian areas to designated military positions, reopening roads, cooperation in demining and removing barricades, and accelerating the process of integration.
On January 30, the Syrian government announced an agreement with the SDF to implement a comprehensive ceasefire. The deal also outlined a phased integration of military and administrative structures between the two sides, the deployment of security forces into the centers of Hasaka and Qamishli, and the transfer of all civil and governmental institutions, border crossings, and checkpoints to state authority.
