Damascus, Feb. 4 (SANA) — The Chairman of the Damascus Chamber of Industry, Mohammad Ayman al-Mawlawi, met on Wednesday with José Manuel Medina, representative of employers at the International Labour Organization (ILO) regional office, to discuss issues related to developing the labor market and supporting the private sector.
During the meeting at the chamber, both sides focused on updating labor laws and reforming social protection systems to ensure sustainable development and effective partnership between the government and the private sector.
The discussion also addressed updating social security and labor regulations, assessing market-required skills, and developing them in line with economic developments, while emphasizing a coordinated approach involving all relevant parties to create innovative solutions that encourage active private sector participation.
The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by the Damascus Chamber of Industry to foster effective partnerships with international entities, exchange expertise, and support the private sector in contributing to sustainable economic growth.
