Dubai, Feb. 4 (SANA) Syrian Minister of Administrative Development Mohammad Hassan al-Skaf participated on Wednesday in the Arab Ministers of Administrative Development meeting, held on the sidelines of the 2026 Global Governments Forum in Dubai. The session brought together Arab ministers and officials engaged in modernizing public administration and building future-ready governments.
The meeting served as a key platform to exchange perspectives on the state of government administration in the Arab region, focusing on the future of artificial intelligence (AI) governance and its use as a strategic tool to enhance government performance, support decision-making, and improve public policy frameworks.
In his address, Minister al-Skaf emphasized that AI represents a foundational institutional tool for rebuilding public administration. He stressed the importance of linking modern technologies with clear legislative and regulatory reforms, and building human capacities capable of applying them efficiently and transparently to improve service quality and public trust. He also highlighted the need for a communication strategy to mitigate concerns about AI use and its potential risks.
Al-Skaf also noted that Syria’s participation reflects a clear commitment to active engagement in joint Arab initiatives, learning from pioneering regional experiences, and moving from knowledge exchange toward practical partnerships in AI governance and administrative development.
The meeting aligns with the Syrian Ministry of Administrative Development’s broader efforts to support comprehensive institutional transformation and build a modern public administration capable of planning, execution, and leveraging technological advances to serve national development and citizens’ welfare.
