New Delhi, Feb. 3 (SANA)– Syria participated in the second ministerial meeting of the Arab–Indian Cooperation Forum in New Delhi, as part of efforts to strengthen coordination and partnership between India and Arab countries, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said.
A Syrian delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, headed by Mohammad Zakaria Labbabidi, also attended the fourth meeting of senior officials held alongside the forum.
According to the ministry, senior officials reviewed draft versions of the New Delhi Declaration and the forum’s executive program for 2026–2028. Both documents were later approved at the ministerial meeting, with the aim of expanding institutional cooperation.
On the sidelines of the talks, Labbabidi met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who expressed India’s interest in enhancing cooperation with Syria across various sectors.
The delegation also held meetings with India’s External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar and other senior officials to discuss bilateral relations and coordination, the ministry said.
In addition, Syrian officials met with representatives of participating delegations and held talks with the heads of the Asian–African Legal Consultative Organization (AALCO) and the Asian–African Rural Development Organization (AARDO). The delegation also took part in a seminar at the Indian Council of World Affairs and attended the opening of the Indo-Arab Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
