Aleppo, Jan. 6 (SANA) One Syrian Arab Army soldier was martyred and several others were injured in SDF drone strikes targeting army positions around the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood in Aleppo.
In a statement, the Aleppo Media Directorate said that the SDF attacked an area near Shayhan Roundabout in a “new violation” of agreements signed with the Syrian government. One soldier was martyred and three others injured, the statement added.
The Directorate urged residents to avoid areas of potential clashes and to refrain from gathering in neighborhoods near al-Ashrafieh and Sheikh Maqsoud until security forces have fully secured the area. The Internal Security Forces and local police have been deployed to manage traffic and maintain order in the city streets.
Following the attacks, the Syrian Arab Army responded by launching strikes targeting SDF drone launch sites in Sheikh Maqsoud, SANA reporter on the ground said.
