Damascus, Jan.4 (SANA) President Ahmad al-Sharaa extended Christmas and the New Year greetings on Saturday to His Beatitude Patriarch John X of Antioch and All the East of the Greek Orthodox, as well as to members of the Antiochian Greek Orthodox Church.
This took place during a visit by the Secretary-General of the Presidency, Maher al-Sharaa, who headed a delegation to the Patriarchal Residence in Damascus, where he conveyed President al-Sharaa’s Christmas and New Year greetings.
Patriarch John X expressed his appreciation to President al-Sharaa, hoping that the new year would bring stability and well-being to Syria.
Christian communities across Syria celebrated Christmas and the New Year with prayers in churches, along with festive celebrations and Christmas carnivals.
