Internal Security Forces reinforce Aleppo neighborhoods following civilian casualties

Aleppo, Dec. 22 (SANA) Internal Security Forces have stepped up deployments in several Aleppo neighborhoods after assaults perpetrated by SDF, the Interior Ministry said Monday.

The ministry said a child and his mother were killed and at least 15 other civilians, mostly women and children, were wounded in what it described as indiscriminate shelling and sniper fire that struck populated areas of the city.

According to the statement, the injured were taken to al-Razi Hospital and Aleppo University Hospital. al-Razi Hospital was also hit upon the arrival of casualties, though medical teams continue to provide emergency treatment.

Security forces have reinforced their presence to protect civilians and evacuate residents from areas under fire, the ministry said.

Several districts of Aleppo were targeted earlier with mortars, rockets, and heavy machine-gun fire, prompting security forces to move residents to safer locations.
