In his speech, Charge d’ affairs of the Embassy of Azerbaijan Republic in Damascus, Mr. Elnur Shahhuseynov, affirmed that November 8 is one of the most significant national days in Azerbaijan’s modern history. The republic celebrates Victory Day as a symbol of restored national sovereignty and the liberation of Azerbaijani territories.

Shahhuseynov noted that on November 10, 2020, a trilateral agreement was signed between Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia, bringing an end to the war and affirming Azerbaijan’s victory. He added that President Ilham Aliyev declared November 8 a national holiday named “Victory Day,” in honor of restoring historical justice and territorial unity.
