President Ahmad al-Sharaa arrived Friday at the municipal stadium in Idleb to take part in the launch of the “Loyalty to Idleb” campaign, a nationwide initiative aimed at supporting the province’s recovery and reconstruction.

Speaking to a large crowd, President al-Sharaa described his visit as deeply personal. “I arrived in Damascus yesterday, the place I love most in my country, but Idleb is my true passion,” he said.

The President praised the people of Idleb for their resilience, saying, “With all of you, Syria has raised its head among nations and regained its dignity and pride. By your actions, you have left the world astonished and in awe.”

President al-Sharaa highlighted his recent international meetings in New York, stressing that every country he engaged with supported Syria’s recovery, sovereignty, and unity. “I saw a genuine desire from all nations for Syria to prosper and regain its strength, and a firm insistence on Syria’s unity and rejection of any calls for partition,” he noted.

He called for collective action to seize the momentum of international engagement. “Efforts must be united, and we must seize the current global engagement with the Syrian cause. Lifting sanctions is not a goal in itself but a means to achieve Syria’s prosperity,” he said.

Concluding his speech, President al-Sharaa framed the day’s event as symbolic. “Today is a day of loyalty, to our mother, Idleb the proud, to whom Syria owes so much.”
